as I'm aware, no. the Electrex is for the 1999+ motor and puts out different amps to yours. if you would like it repaired then by all means send it to me in the UK. I have one repaired and waiting to go which will save you about 10 days.

please get in touch through our web site.

we're 6gbp more expensive on ebay but deal away from ebay and we can always do a deal. it's business!

The replacement stator is for 89-99, the one in the picture i showed, but its not an original.
I have heard, not a specific brand or model but stators that are not original could be dangerous to the cdi.

that has been true to say of the 2000-2003 chinese electrex in the past. the importer says that those bad days are over....we have yet to see. when ever someone calls me and says that their ignition module has gone 'bang' it is because they are running an electrex stator but I can't disern the age of them. HOW OLD?

so I have been selling some andf trusting his word, at the moment all is OK.

this as I say is for the 2000-2003.

WE HAVE NO RECORD OF THE PRE 2000.

Taffy

you need the ohms on "20"
for the green to black

on "2,000"
for the red to black

check 'just in case' on "20K". forget the yellows and the blue.

Taffy

from green to black 0,02 on 20K Ohm

from black to red 0,67 on 20K Ohm

regards Michael

Hello Michael
your 0.02 is 20 ohms and the nearest that 23 ohms can be recorded.
your 0.67 means 670 ohms and that is 1,000 too little. 1,670 and you stood a chance.

Ok thanks for all the info so far!
If it could be gambling to replace the old stator with a not a original stator, could I put a small resistor on a cable to the ignition coil to protect it from to much amps from the stator?

Regards Michael

you're making it difficult. its actually easy!

get your original swedish electical mechanical (SEM) repaired to 'better than new'.

it was one guy in the world who rewinded this stator and he lives in spain.
But I found one in sweden who had brand new originals from 2000 and up.
I got one from 2000 that works with mine 1995 and even an uprated version compared to 1995.
The bike runs on solid idle in really cold temperatures and even warm, goes better than ever and starts on 1-3 kicks cold or warm, thank you!
But I had a blue cable from my old stator that went to a metal-cube that made the lights work, this doesnt exist on the new stator, what could I do?

regards Michael

the wire that went into the cube was a yellow wire! the blue wire was an earth. that goes to...earth. with three yellows you simply use two and make the other an earth.

the man in Spain was 'Sparks' and he now lives back in the UK. I sell his stators.

I know a man in Sweden too! wink!!!

If I get a short circuit (from yellow to yellow) without any fuses, could this damage the spark-circuit (the part of the stator that make the engine work with solid sparks).
Why Im asking this is because the cables that goes to the lights is a messy birdnest.
Water, mud and bad cables could led to a short circuit and I have no fuses on the bike.
What I consider is to not connect the the ligthtcables, I dont need them for the moment, and in the future build new cables with fuses to the lights.
I have two yellow cables from the stator.

regards Michael

the only thing that will blow a fuse is direct HT power even if through a tiny red wire.

if two yellows touch - nothing happens because there is no earth involved.

Taffy

But I dont have an earth-cable from the stators lightsystem, how do I get earth for the lights?
Is the lightsystem using the the earth from the sparkplug?

if you have:
2 x yellow
1 x bluue
= make the blue go to greound

if you have:
3 x yellow
= make one go to earth
