Husaberg Starting Video

Somewhere out there, there is a video where buddy starts one with his hand.

Very cool.

noticed it had a keihin!

and that #black foot' that's not from dirt that's broken from countless practices....

regards

Taffy

Can anyone translate this video?
I just cant start my FE400 with the kickstarter.. (it has a keihin already)

I think the guy has an odd looking big toe. He is a freak! And if you are going to go on public viewing...would you not wash your feet!???

So what d'you reckon he's saying? I'm a new fe 400 owner and still trying to master starting.

Looks to me like he's saying find TDC on the compression stroke and go just past it with the decomp. Them get the kicker as high as poss and give it a swing.

Makes sense to me. I've used the same method on british singles for years. Any tips appreciated.

I start my WR400 1998 with a hand as well, you just need to have the compresion full and follow same procedure, this bikes are not like Bultaco, those one will brake your leg if you are not using boots.

I think we need a translation here... anyone??

Last time I tried to KS my 550, I ended up with a bruise on my calf that looked like it had been hit with a Brett Lee opening fastball. and the bike still ended up on charge 'for it got goin'.

Azza.

the reason the bike starts so easy is , the carb is set up , the bike is warm , not red hot and not stone cold .

he uses the correct procedure for kick starting ANY big single .

I'll bet there is a remote somewhere where somebody is pressing the electric just as he kicks. I've never seen a decent size 4st single start that easy. When My 650 is cold you need boots just to turn the engine even with the decomp all the way in 8O

i assure you sir , if you have the right technique they are that easy to start .

did you know that there are people who can start them by hand

my 04 450 kicks very easily, she battles a bit when VERY hot. I have just removed the starter, battery and stuff, cause I never use it. BUT there is no chance I would ever try bare foot.
