tow start. yep! put a tow rope around your right footrest (in the UK) and dump it in 2nd or 3rd gear. then take it for a good ride or warm fully before stopping.

taffy are you completely insane ( i haven't met a welshman who wasn't    ) if i was tied by a rope to one of my mates cars or bikes, they would instantly grow horns and i could visualise myself getting towed down the motorway at 80mph with extremely brown trousers.
on reflection of that last sentence, maybe it's about time i re-assessed my friends.
i could ask the wife, but i don't trust her with the remote for the telly, far less towing me to certain death.

andy
If you are going to tow it behind another bike be sure to have a log enough rope to avoid the roost!
Especially if th roost is full of rocks!! 8O

I had the same problem with my fe501 , i toke down the carburettor to pieces, blown it clean (assured me that the jets where "original"), turned up the idle, opened the mixture screw 1 & 1/4 turns and voila! It starts warm & cold! :p

Dunno if it will help you, but my 99fc501 was hard to start, mind you the motor was shagged, anyway i found out that it would start reasonably easily with a new plug and the fuel turned off, ie turn it on so it fill sthe bowl, but then turn it off whilst you are kicking, this method was the only way i could get the bike to start without wetting the plug.

Taf you are an evil man !

What taffy forgot to say in this drill is that the rope is tied to the Bike that is doing the TOWING. The end for the bike that is being towed is wrapped 2X around the left hand grip and the loose end is held in the hand so that if you need to abort all you have to do is open your hand.

Shame Taffy 8) the worst wrecks I have ever seen have been from Loading and unloading a bike from a truck and second tow starting.
