Where did that info come from and for what time period is it ??.

May be due to them not bringing in as many bikes some guys up here haven't been able to get the model they want and the dealer is awaiting more stock.

all it says is year to date '05 was 57 and is now ytd 36 and a drop of 36%.

just two years ago australia was husabergs biggest market followed by europes sales only just equalling the states.

i think australia was on 800 units PA wasn't it?

so when is "YTD" up to?

regards

Taffy

Makes us look pretty average really i think...
I would want to be moving more than 50 bikes a year into a country...

the information i have comes from trevor hedge a bike journalist in w.a .

the figures are 6 monthly as per the 6 monthly 2005 figure

I was lead to believe they were only bringing in 170 units for the year and the powers to be were re-directing there marketing push to the orange bikes and Bergs were going back to the enthusiasts tag, so i was told.

I've heard now that ktm have the engine and crank they consider the bergs a finacial liability.........

ya know i wouldn't doubt that the orange bergs would sell the company now that they have gotten ahold of the ground rules for the most electrifying fourstrokes on the planet but can you blame them its only business gobble up the only folks that can crush your product then spit em out when your done making copies......look at verizon and att same thing its just more irretating thats its happend to my beautiful bergs

dealer support is what you will be finding is a problem, then the dealers do not trade bergs, but expect you to buy one!!! The dealers may be having problems themselves as they do not get the bergs until months after the ktm are on the floor. Why buy a new bike only to have it outdated in 6 months, assuming bergs come on time the next year. I think dealer backing, then customer backing is very important. The days of berg riders looking after themselves could be running thin. The berg is the better bike, so why do more ktms sell????

New Models released to Late in year.

Some Main Bearing Problems etc.
(People question reliability compared to a KTM)
(KTMS around 8000kms to 11000kms on EXC models with no real issues)

Parts availability.

Dealer Support.
Most Berg dealers dont Trade back in.

Bad Resale.

Not enought Race wins for Berg Enduro or Motorcross(supermoto not big)
ie not many seen on podiums at Club events and even national and international.

Similar here in S.A., Today the 31st July is the current berg agent's last day, from tomorrow the South african agency goes to the local KTM agent. This is bad news for the "old" agent as he was a true enthusiast and aslo put his entire life into it; But business is business I guess. I enjoyed great service from him over the last 2 years. Marketing locally was not great; around 60 bike PA. The new agent is a great marketer and will hopefully take Husaberg from a small success to a large one. Downside is going to be cost of parts,

an example; oil filter from old agent = R58.00 ($8.50), same filter from local KTM shop R95.00($13.90). now this as a ratio across all parts and consumables is huge. the differance to give you guy's an idea of the local currency is $5.4 (R36.70) = cost of 9 beers.

So the cost of spares is going to almost double for consumers and if the reasoning behind KTM decision to move agents works then so will sales; maybe.
