Australia?

Never herd of it?
Just joking!
In the USA it seems to be hardly moving to me.
You will see a one or two in a desert race or enduro.
My FC 550 seems to be the only one interested in Moto in my area of the north west. (Ca,and Nevada)
I still dream of an all new FC 450 or 500 in 09?

gazza its taken a lot of hard work from certain dealer(s) in Australia to get confidence in these machines and put them back on a potential buyers wish list, smaller dealerships like mine have put them back on the racetrack and trails, supply demos to people who abused the machinery.
Just seeing one in the pits around my district 3 years ago would be as rare as , ive built a following in my area now and the guys love them but you must give them the confidence that you can supply them with help when some mechanical issues arrive, weve managed to do that between myself and my mechanic entering races and finishing with a well prepared bike got us some good publicity
I was surprised to see another dealer and a good mate of mine from Mildura have so many Bergs doing the sweep riding at the recent Hattah desert race, whilst gassin it through the bush you would see a rider on a Berg every 5 minutes or so watching for fallen riders. there were a few in the race as well.
What worries me is that bigger dealerships will be approved they will move in and undo all the good work, discount the bikes strip profit margins eg like TEAM MOTO GROUP in Qld has done with KTM.
Keep the dream alive SAFARI 2007

if the big dealers get hold of the berg product they will wreck it for sure . they only want to make a buck and don't care , or have the passion .

if you sell husabergs you must have the inner desire and understand the bike .

when husaberg first started selling in numbers they had problems , people expected a '' turn key '' bike . they are not a ''turn key '' bike and people did not understand , so they developed a bad name .

if you sell them you stand by them !

RE: Re: Husaberg sales up up in Australia 2007 !!

Your doing a great job Johno, on the bike front and the apparel front. Your costing me a fortune !!!! Stop showing me all that cool Husaberg stuff !!!! Ha ha. Your right though, they are great bikes but getting that confidence with the buyers takes a lot. I think you have done a pretty good job of that around here and now around the world with the Kurtz bearing water pump fix kit.
Anyway I'm very happy with my Berg, it's awesome to ride every time.

Cheers :D

i sell them and ride one myself, i have ktm as well and rode them until i got a 550 05 demo and have had a berg since, i love the grunt and use the power as an advantage when i race, i grew up racing 500 mxers in 80s and 90s so the 650 feels controlable for me, im over 40 now and dont train so i need any advantage i can get.
big shops are my hate, i have had the guts ripped out of my ktm franchise by them with pricing, they have salesmen on commission who dont care or know nothing.
ive heard that ktm springwood in QLD part of the team moto group has gone broke from selling bikes at cost price and ruining the market for the real dealers. good riddence.

We used to have a saying "the bitterness of poor quality remains well after the sweetness of low price" & its one of the truest sayings I've heard.

Dealers who undersell their product normally dont last long in the game because the wheel turns oh so quickly & the guys they gave a cheap rebuild or parts to are back in next week with complaints about it not doing what they wanted it to do. Normally because the dealer didn't listen to what they wanted. Good dealers dont sell on price alone but trust in their ability not only to service bikes properly but pass on valuable setup info to keep their customers happy.

I sent my motor 1700kms for a rebuild because the local KTM dealer had no idea. I got more than my moneys worth & the freight charge was less than if I had to pay an extra hours work for some knob who didn't know what they were doing.

Keep up the good work Orangeberg.

Hey John you say that you don't train i thought you were training pretty hard the whole weekend we where at louee!! Any way thats what i call training!!
On the dealer thing as i have told Orangeberg i am willing to travel to get work done on my bike for customer service and to know the job is being done right, thats why i will take my bike back to Orangeberg anytime i need work done that i can't do myself and will also buy acessories from him when i need them.
Might be calling you soon john to get some new tires.

Well, at this point, I am rapt with the Berg brand, and will likely go another Berg, when the time comes - roll on 2009 model!

I have also been really impressed with Orangebergs knowledge and commitment to the brand and to better informing and supporting customers. Dealers like Orangeberg should be supported specifically because of their commitment, just like those who choose to support Boss in the states.

I would definately contact Orangeberg when it is time to purchase again, just imagine a fully sorted bike with all the additional equipment on board ready to go set up straight from the shop, nothing left to chance, and confident that it has been PD'd properly, not just unpacked, fluids added and pricetag attached.

Azza.

You said it Azza, unfortunately with bike sales in Oz booming, not too many dealers actually know anything about the product they sell other than what's in the brochure, and too many 'bike' mechanics can't do much more than change the oil, and some even struggle with that. I suspect that there are going to be some disillusioned people getting out of bikes in the next few years. the industry needs to add some substance to the gloss it has acquired.

Support Rick Bozarth and OrangeBerg and their ilk, unfortunately they are a rare breed.

Steve

Don't forget Dan @ Motoxotica ( he got lots of parts) and Bikebarn oh ya and Rick (father of the BIG tank ) i still love you too. Boy a little spoiled in the western states i'd say.
