Re: Husaberg re-writes all rules/06 Fe450e weekend ride Phot

Thanks Dan, but I'm too broke to do anything right now-buy a tire. I went to the hardware store and bought some long bolts and some nylon spacers. The muffler can is now a full 5/8" offset in front and 3/4'' offset in back. It tended to rotate the muffler some so that the actual offset at the bottom edge of the can is probably slightly less then those dimensions. However that is as far as I can offset it without pulling the muffler out from its neutral position and causing the side panel to bow out.

That offset will have to do till I get a new tire. Lets hope when I go to Clear Creek this weekend with 15 Thumpertalk guys all wanting to see and hear about the new Jedi Berg, that I have fixed the rubbing problem and with the first good coat of dirt, the dirt stays on the muffler this time and no black melting tire rub marks appear.

how many Husky sells do you credit me for last year? This year you better have those Husabergs lined up and ready to go. I told some guys you're getting a bunch of 05's in too at discount prices.

Started up the Te-510 tonight just to get it running. It definitely still has the Beans! I'm faster on the FE450e in the woods, but me and The wolf are gonna do some hillclimbing at Clear Creek.

I don't know if I've ever met a man too broke for a free tire. This has to be a first of some kind.

thanks,

I thought Dan meant he would install the new tire ( that I buy with his 20% mark down good for new bike buyers in the 30 days) for free, meaning free labor not free tire.

maybe he wants to clarify this for me as I am not too broke to afford the gas to drive over to his shop for a free tire.

Keep talking Guys. Maybe Dan will throw in some new Husaberg riding pants too to go with my new jersey, for my pain and suffering and anguish having to show off my new $8k bike to friends, with a deeply embarrassing black smear on the muffler.

I like those Force gloves too. :)

I agree with others, strange yours rubs so much. Mine didn't & it came with the same 140 tire. I put a monster Teraflex on it for Jawbone & it barely hits when hitting hard bumps. Almost no tire marks on the muffler after our trip there. I also think the mounting tabs are a little off on yours. Glad you're enjoying the bike, I love mine also. It will climb the hills in 4th gear, (stock 15/45 gearing), but too fast for my comfort, so I used 3rd on everything. Man that thing climbs, now if it's rider was as good....... :D

yours is an 05, the 2006 muffler mounts are different. We may have discovered a problem with the 06 models

bigbob does ride a little bike--little tire will work----my tire hooks!!

Thanks dan for the new tire. Looking at it I think without that muffler shim job I did this tire may have rubbed too. dont know.

I think the factory slimmed down the rear saddle frame width to match the new narrower tank up front and they had to shim out the muffler but they did not do it right for that stock tire.
