I am going to do a "soft" rallye here in oz which will be run over 2000k's in July, it is my first ride in such an event and my first attempt at navigation with a roadbook  I am doing it on my '06 550 for which i have ordered a Clarke tank. Have any of you guys got any setup tips ?...Most of it will be open sandy track in the middle of f**k all :D I have ten weeks to get the bike and myself ready.

gear it for 16:46

use Motul 300V Factoryline 15w50 double ester oil (AND NOTHING ELSE)

change oil & oil filter each day if over 500km if higher speeds or at about 800-1000km if trail riding speeds

use PULP if you can

set up the suspension sags for yourself + half fuel load+ all gear carried

plug the rear head breather outlet in the rubber boot that goes up to the air box to prevent excess oil spray to the air filter at high speeds 130kph+

enjoy !! they make great rallye bikes
