I currently own a KTM 450 EXC. I am looking at getting rid of it an getting an 04 or 05 FE450. I was interested in some of you tried and true Husaberg owners giving some of your comments. Good and bad would be appreciated. I am looking forward to having one but am a little apprehensive due to the lack of Husabergs you see around. I can't afford more than one bike and would hate to be waiting for parts and not be able to ride.
Thanks

As far as parts go, the dealers in Cali will take care of you. Most of the people here, myself included, have ordered parts through Motoexotica with great success. Other dealers around the area(and country) are equally good.

Thanks for your input Brian. I guess you are pretty happy with your machine.

I'm extremely happy. During the FOrce ide I found out haow great the Husaberg community is. The ride also highlighted how good the bikes are. My 400 ran side by side with a Husky 570. It's forgiving nature helped me learn to ride in sand quick enough that I was able to stay inplace in the pack even though I had never been in sand before. Of course if you chose to stay on an orange bike. you are still welcome. We had a couple KTMs at the rally and welcomed their participation.

Hi Kthump I used to own 01 FE 400 and bought 04 450 EXC and I liked it
alright on the motocross track but disliked in the woods it wore me out
and made crash simply put unhealthy so I sold it and bought 04 FE 450 and haven't regretted that move. Suspension is better motor is better the berg is gentler down low and more on top service is easier and I almost forgot the seat is great in comparison to EXC and one warranty shows
huge confidence in reliability

Happy trail VIKING

Most parts are interchangable with KTM.
Husaberg specific parts are in stock in the US. So parts availability is not a concern.

Valves are easier to adjust on Husabergs than any other dirt bike.

Most everything else is similar when doing repairs.

I agree that the seat onthe Husaberg is miles better. It is still dead easy to move around on but it's not literally rock solid like KTM seems to think they need to be.

Also I believe the FE's turn significantly better than the EXC's ;)

Thanks for the input guys. I think I'm going to go ahead and jump in. I think Husabergs may be making their mainstream interduction. I know most of you guys have been behind them for a while, it's probably time your loyalty pays off. I'm looking forward to becoming part of the family.

How about the tank, seems kinda wide but, I think the capacity is just right for local enduros.
Thanks,
Jeff
