hi,
i have a 02 fe650e.
does anyone know for sure what ktm wheels will fit the front and also the rear?
thanks in advance.
tuts

Hey there,
i have a 02 Fc550 and a 06 KTM250SXF, i do know that the rear axle is the same OD. At this time I have not compared all the parts to what can be exchanged, but looks like there are afew parts that are the same. I will see if the rear/front can be exchanged.

Please let me know your findings . I just bought a KTM rear wheel for my 02 fc 550 chassis and the wheel is incorrect . It is approximately 1/2 inch to narrow between sprocket and brake disc mounting surfaces .
Spending too much money and time trying to figure what fits these bikes .
very few used parts available .Probably one bikes worth of parts very soon . -- FED-UP in N.E.

here is the skinny
00-02 KTM /Husaberg front are the same
03-07KTM/Husaberg front are the same
there are some subtle differences for instance 00 Husaberg spokes are not the same as
00 KTM spokes.
Husaberg came with excel rims where as KTM enduro did not
the front hub is the same for the model years
in the rear 00-02 has smaller hub where as 03-07 has larger hub but the axle diameter is
the same
I have 01 husaberg FC rear wheel and a 03 KTM front wheel and they bolted right up
to my 04 and 07 husaberg and I had KTM front and rear wheels bolted up to my
00 husaberg and with front adapter kit you can fit 00-02 front wheel to a 03-07 WP fork
or 03-07 front wheel to a 00-02 fork

Thanks for the info . By larger and smaller rear hubs do you mean width , diameter or both ?
Cheers, Ryan

Viking

yet again that HAS to go in 'the doc'!!!!

do you actually breath in and out when you type? or do you just hold your breath and "get it out?"

FRONT WHEEL
00-02 KTM /Husaberg front are the same.
03-07KTM/Husaberg front are the same.

REAR WHEEL
the ' 00-'02 has a smaller hub whereas 03-07 has larger hub but the axle diameter's are the same.

"I have an '01 husaberg FC rear wheel and a 03 KTM front wheel and they bolted right up to my '04 and '07 husaberg and I had a KTM front and rear wheels bolted up to my '00 husaberg.

Husaberg came with excel rims where as KTM enduro did not. This is because Husaberg are superior bikes and use better equipment. (i wrote that bit!)

Taffy, I just keep posting jibberish untill I can get you to research my dillema for me . I thought you would have figured that out by now. :D However my problem is that I bought a used KTM rear wheel and the hub is to narrow for my 02 Berg chassis .

I don't think there is any "kit" which allows the use of the newer 26mm hub to be adapted to the earlier 20mm axle.

The factory adapter kit from KTM is a simple spacer arrangement that allows the old axle/wheel to be mounted up to the new '03 and up forks.

To mount the new to old, you have to custom machine an exact copy of a '03 and up spacer with an ID to match the '00-'02 spacer.

well it couldn't be clearer could it:

I hold my breath

Husabergler
the only difference between two hubs is the area between L side and R side is ~50mm
on the smaller hub 00-02 and the measurement 03-07 is ~65mm
sprocket / brake rotor bolt pattern and offset are the same it is direct bolt on from
00 thru 07 maybe you are missing spacer ? or maybe wheel from ?? take a picture
post it that way someone could spot whats up

Taffy
still holding my breath

I checked with KTM dealer, the kit adapting 03-07 front wheel 26mm to 00-02 fork 20mm has been discontinued but the kit to adapt 00-02 front wheel 20mm to 03-07 fork 26mm still is available #SXS03540400

Viking ,
Thank you . I believe a spacer on the brake rotor side is in order as my stock disc neither fits bolt pattern nor is spaced correctly . However the sprocket is in correct alignment and the wheel is centered .
Kind regards , Ryan

taffy is correct in his notes, my 06 ktm 250sxf rear wheel bolts up fine onto my 01 fc550.
other parts are (foot pigs, pin and spring) are the same, the pin on the ktm is drilled out in the center.
rear sporket,front/rear disk and mounting hardware are the same.

Excellent , should be the same on mine .I must have a misrepresented wheel from ebay .
Taffy as always, raising the bar through ridicule (works for me I found out what I needed to know ) .
Thank you all , Ryan

stay away from '02 ktm wheels as they are made out of cheese.
for '02 they took the lightening process to far and the hubs were weak.
i've had 2 rear hubs go on '02 ktms.
they must have realised the problem as they strengthed the hubs for '03.

am running an '03 rear ktm wheel on my '03 husaberg.

Wheel change and suspension change

Hi All, hope things are all good in UHE land.
I thought I might stick my oar in here and state you can fit from 01 to 08 rear wheels KTM (Krappy Trail Machines) to Husy, but front from 04 to 08 (The axles are different) if you change the front sliders then 01 to 08.
I have done this on several occasions.
The rear shock is the issue it cannot be interchanged without serious mods that I havent been bothered to try.
Triple clamps from 04 to 08 two and 4 smoke interchange, and in fact the 06 on KTM triple clamps i feel are better than Husabergs.
Brakes, disks all interchange with the exception of big bore two smokes the rear piston is bigger and the pads are different (99 to 02 / 03), Good if you want laser sharp rear brakes, otherwise avoid!
My 06 FE550 is running 08 KTM front forks and triple clamps and hydraulics, front and rear wheels (with 06 Excel plain rims laced on)
Rear sprokets ALL interchange but the front doesnt.
KTM 04 to 08 bottom chain slider (front sprocket) exchange for the noisy husaberg bearing mounted abortion of a guide wheel.
Rear KTM chain slider 04 on fits 04 on Husy possibly others
All good really!
Hope that helps.

RE: Wheel change and suspension change

good info. looks like i might be "borrowing" my son's rear wheel

RE: Wheel change and suspension change

In short notes, a 01-08 rear ktm wheel, and a 04-08 front ktm wheel, fits a husaberg without modifications?

I would like a set of enduro wheels for my FS650E you see.. And the market for used Husaberg wheels is rather small..

RE: Wheel change and suspension change

Hi Ola,
I have Brand New Genuine KTM/Husaberg 21/18 sets forsale for $1150Aud (approx 670Eur) I dont know what shipping would be to Norway, but it may be worth while?
Best Regards
Sutto
