On My FS570 the brake squeaks tried replacing pads no differents replaced the disk all is good now. Front disk on My FE390 when hot sounds like metal to metal pads look good same thing with this one also replaced the disk All's good. Question should I throw the old disk's away or is their a way of saving then?

The squeak is caused by harmonics between the pad and disc. Think of the grooves in a vinyl record.

Get some course emery cloth and rub them both down in a circular motion, to remove the light 'grooves' and the tracks. You could always machine the discs if you have plenty of meat on them but it's better to keep them as thick as possible obviously.

In my experience, it's always recommended to use the genuine pads/ discs if possible, if not, a trusted reputable supplier otherwise.

If you are familiar with 3m roloc discs?

Introductory pack for high performance jobs includes 3 inch diameter Roloc? surface conditioning discs, 3M coated abrasive discs and Roloc? disc pad. Provides an easy way to evaluate the right product, size and grade for your application.

They are abrasive disc's that are used on a grinder/drill what have you. They work great for breaking the glaze on pads that can cause this as well cleaning the surface of the disc. I would keep them if they were in good shape as spares are always good for that bad rock day :)

The original front disk has a taper to it. my thinking is the taper was enough so that it cause the pistons to stick end result was the brake overheated and I lost the brake twice. Going to rebuild it.

Went a ride today so I didn't have the parts or time to rebuild the front brake. So what I did so put a good front disk and new pads on. About 2 or 3mm more of pad meat so it would push the pistons in more. Brake work good with no problems. Don't know if it's a good fix or temporary one? I'll let You Guys know. If I don't kill my self in the process!
