Does anyone know the valve clearances for fe650 08? and would i need angled feeler gauges? also can't find motorex oil locally can anyone recommend similar i could try?
cheers!

Search the site for Delo 400 oil and valve adjustment. 1/6 turn method recommended by many including me.

the clearances are listed in the manual. you will need angled feelers or you can bend a standard one.

put good oil in the bike! you can search around here to see what people are using. i use motul 15/50.

some including me have good results with 5.5 thou intake and exhaust

yes TDC compression stroke

personal preference on oil is not motul I don't like the clutch action with that stuff, the price sucks donkeys bit too

Hey Gaunty, I've run DELO 400 in both my bergs & have never had a problem. I buy 20 ltr drums at $100 a pop so $5 a litre is a giveaway. I change it every 5 hrs, 7.5 max. I too like Steve, use the 1/6th turn method as feeler gauges are a root to get in without removing the radiator. 15 mins to do both intake & exhaust if you use a cut down allen key to remove the covers.

Stick your details in your nik too so we know where your at & what you ride.

Hi Gaunty, what you need to do is chop the top of the bike off with a steel saw, drain the petrol first, then using an axe smash the rocker covers off carefully, if the valves are too tight then lever the rocker arms up with a massive crow bar, if they are too lose whack the top of the valves with the biggest hammer you have in your garage.

Bobs your uncle.

That should slow you down a bit on Sunday!

I just adjusted my valves on the 05 Fe650 tonight. I have 100 hrs now and the last time I adjusted
was 80 hrs.
I use the 1/6 turn method. 2 of the intakes were near 1/4 . 1 exhaust 1/4 and the other pretty close.
I brought them all back to 1/6 with good results after starting it up.
Sounds good.
