I am selling my CBR 600 to buy a Husaberg FE501 2003.
The owner says that the el-start is broken and needs to be replaced.
I am just wondering where I can buy a new one and approximately how much it will cost me?
I also need a new piston and sprockets, but I found them here:

based on your choice of a parts company, i assume you are from europe. if you put your location and year, model of your bike in your signature area, it would make it easier for those trying to help you.
also, review the hard starting and engine mods sections in the owner's doc on the left of the front page. you will find out what needs to be done to fix your estart. i'm betting on the auto decomp.

Hi
The new starter I would choose the one hybrid from Taff's, I have one and it's good.
Piston just find one wossner were ever you want.

usually the '03 starter motor is ok. the '01-'02 is the bad one.

I think our friend is a Swede Ned!

ye,s I can supply the starter motor that supersedes the 01-02 and the 03!

but I rarely find the starter has gone. more than likely that the dead starter is the lack of support from the auto decomp as Ned says. if it gives a whizzing noise or a ka-haa noise then you need to repair the two gears connecting the starter motor to the crankshaft. again I do a repair kit to help you.

Thanks for all replies, I will figure out more of it when I eventually buy the bike :)

The wire was disconnected from the decomp or autodecomp or whatever, I managed to start it with the elstart :)
