Husaberg Christmas Shopping list????

yeah, sorry thats valve/spring assembly @ £70 as a pair I think. Any more info on the "KTM double springs" (BHP gains?)

Also, Chris thanks for the advice pal! Also, whats a hotcam???

Cheers

Crispin

No worries mate.
Hotcam is the trade name of a cam you can buy to change the way your valves open. For some bikes you can but different 'stage' hotcams that change the valve timings/openings slightly. The Hotcam for the berg is an addapted KTM one, if you compare the lobes from the standard cam, and the hotcam side by side, the hotcam opens the valves earlier in the stroke, opens them further, and leaves them open later. Meaning more time/space for gasses to travel each cam rotation.
A good mod in my experience :)

Thanks again Chris, I'm learning all the time with this good information!

How about a spare set of enduro wheels + tyres so you can go get your berger dirty

also

ive been reading about the dual valve spring kit, if you didnt already know, these improve power whilst reducing engine wear and maintenance schedules.
Im very tempted with this mod myself

ee? For a moment there I though u said "get your berger dirty"???? I'll just go get my ear drops.........................

OK, ....back now.

re: dual valve spring kits, I think Jocke D was talking bout these earlier?? ("KTM double springs"), are these the same thing?

I don't think there are any extra performance to be had with the double springs. You just don't have to worry about broken springs, thats it.

Thanks Jocke D, the chaps I was talking to mentioned some sort of Titanium spring/valves that reduced engine drag & would give a "noticeable" performance boost that they believed was well worth doing (in the region of 2 - 3 BHP)?

Perhaps that depends on the package of overall work done, and you need to get some things done in combination to make a noticeable difference.

Anyway, we might be talking about 2 different things with these valves/springs, but I don't have the knowledge to know if thats the case.

Does anybody else know of "race" or "high performance" Titanium valve/spring sets that are used (perhaps in conjunction with race cams/polishing of heads etc), to gain additional BHP output?

Question: Would people find a thread with all of the power gain modifications that can be achieved on these bikes, with successful combinations, costs & BHP gains useful/interesting?

Cheers

Just swapping the springs will not give any noticable gain.
Together with ti valves, perhaps, but not noticable until you start to get more revs in your CDI I think.
BIGGER valves together with a ported head on the other hand will give increase in power together with a much improved power band.

Cheers spanner
Well, it needs to be reprogrammed. I don't know who normally is authorized to do that. Talk to your dealer or the 'Berg importer down there I guess would be the best way.

Doesn't the engine rev higher if you mount a CDI from a 450?

It might create some other issues that I'm not aware of?
Oh well just a thought... :p

On topic...

I would first of all go for the earlier mentioned head porting and second have someone get the suspension done/optimized. If father Christmas is really kind and/or my wallet allows it  I would get me a twin silencer system from SR-racing. :x-mas:
