Hello hope to enjoy soon on husaberg club
I want to buy an fs 650 for track days and weekends. As i search here and google i found the best models are from 2004 +
But how can i find out if one is 2004 and not 2003
Also is there any engine difference on 2004 from 2005 or 2006
Is the 2004 644 cc?
I dont want the quickest out there i want the most reliable of the models
Sorry for the bad language
Greetings from Greece

One visual difference from an 03 to 04 would be the ignition cover. 04 has the kokusan ignition. Steeper head angle in 04 also.
Its a 644 . 05 to 08 has 628cc and better crank imo.
Still the 04-08 are good years. But I would look for 05-08. 04s also had a thing for hard starting.

Thanks for the quick reply my friend
So you consider better a 2005+ model
How can i tell if is a 2004 or 2005+ only from brakes???

Well the Vin# would tell you that. I dont have the details now.
If graphics are original then this pic of my 05 and 06 should help. 05 in the front.

From memory, the 2005 had the better, later header exhaust too as a quick visual identification (assuming everything is unmodified of course)

If there are registration papers, the engine capacity will be 644 for 2004 and 628 for 2005 on as pollo said

different oil filler angle.
tilted in 2004
flat in 2005

....I believe!

05 had a solid blue seat
04 Yellow with stripes that matched up to the radiator shrouds

Aha Taffy. Both were in 05.

In fact my early production 05 FE650 (7/04) had a tilted filler angle and my later production 05 FE650 (11/04) had a flat one.

The later production bike also had the newer kickstart lever which came on my 06.

a 7/04 bike is a late 2004 model, an 11/04 model is a 2005 model. or have I missed something?

and you say that they are both flat?

The 2005 you see in the pic above was the 7/04 bike if I remember correctly. Looks like an 05 to me.
05 Header , and all the markings of one.
I assumed it was an early production.
Its been sold.

My 06 and 07 has the tilted filler angle also as the 07/04 bike. The 11/04 bike? I think somehow it git an 04 filler.

Ask the seller to tell you the 1st digit of the engine number - that will be the model year. Also in the VIN/frame number - if I remember correctly it's the 10th digit, the one before the M.
