Husaberg 470 650 swap engine

HI

Need a little help,will a 2002 650 engine fit straight into a 2002 470 bike ?.

I know where there is one for sale close to me and am interested if it is not going to cost a fortune and i can use all the running gear that i already have,coil,carb,airbox,etc.If all that has to be changed as well the project will not be worth it so any help will be great before i spend any money and fall out with the wife.

Other than the exhaust, I can't think of any difference.

i was going to leave this one to the experts that check part numbers. i don't! joeusa would suss it in 10 seconds!

however i agree, the exhaust ports and head area will sit 10mm higher i believe and so the exhaust is a worry. the carbwould need to be a 40mm whatever happens.

You are correct Taffy, the only items needing changing are the 2 exhaust header pipes. The carb is 40 mm on both the 470 and the 650.

He may also want to change the front sprocket to a 15 tooth, depending on the kind of riding he does.

HI and thanx for the help.

Looks like i will give the engine a go,the replies have been very helpful and i must add that i have an Accro can and am planning to purchase the headers before next year.This is going to be a project that will take me most of the winter and there will prob be more questions in the future.
