U.K.
So just bought a husaberg sm650 looking to convert to fe650.
Is it possible to change out springs and other stuff?
I do have some springs from another fe huserberg I used to own. My weight is 63kg and I’m short so like the 30mm lower seat height with the sm.
what are the differences on suspension fe and sm?
Spindle on front forks also I guess.
Thanks
Dan

You'll find that the FE had a softer fork spring than the FS let alone the FSc. What you need is the correct spring for your weight. I have lots of used springs here around the .42 and .44 mark on the front plus 72, 76 on the rear. most people needed the other way.

as for lowering you, most riders adapt the way the stop.

Hi taffy wouldn’t the fork springs be shorter for fs than the fe?
Thanks

no they aren't sorry. The rear shock was 4mm shorter due to a thick washer being put inside. I can't recall if the shock shaft wasn't shorter? Anyway, that 4mm multiplies to 10-12mm at the rear wheel. The forks have to then protrude 10-12mm to keep the bike on an even keel. This is known as the 'pitch'. But the TCs must be changed to 16, 17 or 18mm at the same time.

The rest is ******** and rumour.

Right that’s good to know thanks for that. I did buy a rear shock spring and fork springs off of you some years back to match my weight. The rear shock spring has ratings written on it but I’m not sure about the fork spring. There is sone online description about counting the coils to find it’s rating will have to look at that again.
So I will have to work out how to fit 18/21 inch set of wheels as I’m guessing the spindle will be different on the front?
The engine wants some work so I will be in touch, I have bought parts from you in the past and will be needing your services again. 👍🏻

so are your dirt wheelks small axle?

I sell the conversion kits. front fork reducer .

so the tubes go in the fork legs. so you need an early axle. You can't shange bearings because the OD of each type of bearing is different.
