After I lost my beloved fe400 to a top end meltdown, I was told I should have enrolled in Husaberg 101, and asked more questions. Okay, Before I pull the trigger on buyin a new 'berg (05 or 06), what are the things I should be aware of? I want this next berg experience to be a positive one.

Regular scheduled maintenance. Engine oil every ride or every other. Service the air filter after every ride. Thats about it.

Sounds simple. I would love to see the maintenance schedule for a new burg.

Go to www.husaberg.se and download the 05 or 06 manual and look at the recommended maintenance intervals.

Depends on your riding....every ride oil change is a bit extreme unless your conditions are extreme...trail riding...every couple of rides...racing, or extreme temps, then every race....I hear some guys say they dont bother adjusting the valves at recommended intervals and have had no problems...a bit scarry i fyou ask me...the new Bergs are a completely different animal when it comes to reliability than your older Berg...think KTM RFS, but fun to ride...

The first of all is to careful the first hour operation.if you buy the berg new leave it to work for 10 minutes and change oil and filter.this must be your first priority for clean up the engine from the silicone of the piston and sleeve.then change oil after 3 hours until the first 35-40 hours.dont use the bike more from 20 minutes operation and only at streets without traffic and then leave it to cold.dont revs it on from 4500-5000 rpm.dont leave the engine at high temps at first hours because this must be crack many metal parts like spring valves and piston rings.you must know if you buy 2004-2005 model husaberg gives rebuild of bearing con rod at 80-100 hours.the 2004 model has not that problem untill 300-350 hours.check the valves and clean your filter often.if you have a very open throtle day you must check the valves at once without the pass of 15 hours.good klm
