Husa 570 Problem

Hi all.
My -09 FE570 Berg has approx 80 hours run and is normally working perfect.
I have a problem that give me a lot of problems:
During some winter-races (I live in berg land - Sweden) my FE570 just stops during race and wont start again.
Fuelpump working and starter moving but it wont start...
It has now happened 4 times and always after 30-40min riding (=long way home).
The last time it happened I i checked fusebox, fuel-hose, de-iced the motor but it did'nt start.
Tried to start it every 10 minutes for 1hour when the battery was drained.
After 4 hours I got back and it started on the first try.

Home in my garage I checked all contacts, checked the famous cable issue (typical damaged insulation on cable in front of rear suspension), checked battery connection - but no problems visible (I re-routed the cables while working).
I changed sparkplug and the spark-plug cap which had some cracks in the rubber sealing.

After this I ran the motor several times until boiling point in garage and everything seems to be OK.
During motor running (hot motor) I put in a new airfilter, but as soon as I put in the airfilter the motor stops !?
Tried it several times but always the same problem ! (I didn't pull out the cable for fuelpump).
I let the motor cool down and installed the airfilter and tried again but the problem is gone.
Can this be the same problem that has forced me to walk the racetracks instead of riding it ???
I am a bit worried to ride again and need some expertice to help explaining what is happening...
Regards Jonas.

Sounds similar to the problem I had. After running for 20-30 min, if I shut it off or stalled it, it wouldn't start for 30-40 minutes. My problem was the fuel pump. Are you sure you can hear the fuel pump running when you try to start it?

check kill switch...if you have the, what we call the "euro" switch (toggle for lights in front with red and blue buttons on back side for kill and horn). disconnect the kill wire and ride a while...you will have to kill the bike with other means...stalling while in gear, but I'll bet, if you have this switch, this is your problem...same thing happened to me, and a couple of friends (all using the euro switch). Start simple before tearing into fuel pump, etc.

The bike is running again :bounce3: !
It think it was the sparkplug cap and the broken sealing (or maybe the sparkplug itself).
I got a tip from a Berg factory racing guy that one should regularly clean the sparkplug hole with compressed air since the draining hole is placed a little bit too high... (also well known for Yama riders)

The problem with the motor stopping when installing a airfilter with running motor I think was related to a new greased filter (computer maybe was disoriented...)

I love this bike in the winterland (when running) ! - with installed recluse I dont have to bother to make gearshifts !

Thx for reply anyhow
/ Jonas
