How would you feel?

If you took your Berg to the only local dealer on March 9 for warranty work pre-approved by BMG and did not get the bike back until July 30, how would you feel?

Yeah, me too.

Its official, I have the patience of a saint.

survey says!

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that this is a rhetorical question and you just needed to vent.

Glad we could help.

thanks,

I would be thankfull for ANY warranty assistance on a 470. 3 months is average turn around when I take a bike to a dealer. I would say all and all you did great.

I agree with Berger, It took three monthes for my motor work also. BOSS had the patience of a saint, I was a winey little *****.

All new generation Rockers etc as well lower end bearings, new carb and a bunch of electrical work, labor was on budget and the bike took three days less than promised.............1 week :D
Hell I've waited twice that long for my KX parts...... 8O
Ooops sorry that doesn't help much does it

I'm not sure why this post was moved to the General forum as I believe it to be a Dealer issue.

My intent was not to vent (I've been doing that in private since late March), but to attract the attention of BMG by posting in the Dealers/Distributors forum. I want them to be aware that all is not well within their dealer network.

It took 10 days shy of 5 months to complete a task the dealer told me would take 2 weeks. I was hoping for a response from BMG. Something like" that's not accepable and we'll look into it" or maybe "get over it and move on".

Perhaps you could be more specific as to why it took so long. Waiting for a specific part? Dealer dragging his feet? Dealer waiting for payment from BMG before releasing the bike?
Alot of these issues could have been addressed by you. Parts hold up? I have sourced parts on my own from Austraila,UK and other dealers to get the ball rolling before.I have put adds in the parts wanted section here to see if members could help, as I have helped members with parts before. Waiting for payment from the distributer, I have paid for the work and then been reinbursed when my dealer was paid. Dealer dragging his feet? Pull the bike out and send the motor to another dealer if the repair has been approved.
Husaberg is a small company with a sorted past. Sometimes we need to go the extra mile on our end. The fact the factory is somewhat liberal with warranty is great. If you had a jap bike all you would have gotten was the middle finger.
You might say "I shouldnt have to do that". In a perfect world you wouldnt have to but.....
Just my 2 cents, and as always....I could be wrong

tminer,

If you'll read the description of the D&D category, it will come to you as to why it was moved.

You did not post a pertinent question geared towards the distributor. You posted a rhetorical and sarcastic question toward the general membership. There was absolutely no part of your post that required a response from an offcial entity. It was a post geared to expose a problem in hopes of forcing their hand by airing the problem in a public forum.

If you would like to post a question in D&D, feel free to do so, but please leave any sarcasm out of it. Please reallize that we have no affiliation with any official Husaberg entity, so any participation they take on this site is out of the kindness of their hearts. You're not guaranteed a response or corrective action. If our members post questions to them that are designed to "shame" them into doing something, they can easily stop visiting and all future members' avenues of assistance will be shut down due to a few members' attempt to embarass the distrib or dealer in a public forum.

If you want a response from them, you're best bet is truly a phone call or email. The forum is not constantly monitored by a representitive.

For what it's worth, I would be a seriously unhappy camper if 5 months of my warranty were burnt up in a shop. I hope your complaint is resolved, and we're here to help, but please respect the very few rules and guidelines on the site, and help us keep the avenue of approach open between us and the mothership.

Best of luck,

Schwim,

Sarcasm? That was quite a lecture I just received. You read way more into my post than I wrote. I'm not creative enough to be sarcastic!

Please delete this entire thread.

And my account as well if you think you need to.

Adios...

Mr. T:

The U.S. importer, BMG, has done a bang up job since they recently took over. Before they came on board parts availability was bleak at its best and most of us are very appreciative for all the time, money and effort they have invested in Husaberg.

The 470 is a great motor in my opinion which should provide you with much enjoyment now that it is all put together.

The parts situation should steadily improve but we must bare with them especially as the bikes age.

neener neener!

Hi again tminer,

You can delete your own posts by editing the first post, checking "Delete this post" and clicking submit. There's no need for me to clean up after people with this method.

As for your account, it serves no purpose to delete it. If you wish to not visit the site anymore, it will have the same result with less work on my part.

we can have a "you were good-how was i....?" thread.

regards

Taffy
