How to save engine gaskets?

Hello,

I am going to try to take some preventative measures to save the engine gaskets (just in case I need to tear into the engine again in the future, the gasket may not be destroyed).

I have loctite 518 and copper sealant (for around the exhaust). Would either of these work? Any other thoughts appreciated.

If you are talking about the left side cover gasket, rocker cover gaskets and the like, I smear them with oil so they don`t stick to the aluminium.
sounds counter intuitive but works.

I know its probably not good form, but my clutch cover, left side cover and valve inspection gaskets are all made out of high quality gasket paper that matched the width of the oem gaskets before they went into the bike. I cant remember what those number were though sorry.

Everyone carries on about how you should never do it, but Ive become really good at making gaskets this way and Ive never had issues or leaks from them. Ive sealed up bikes and cars with cornflake boxes before lol, the material is near identical. I never bothered checking how much the oem sets are, but they run into the hundreds I think.

My father taught me how to make my own gaskets out of both proper gasket paper and cornflake boxes. It's fun and works just fine. I don't use it on my 570, but if I didn't have an alternative I wouldn't hesitate.
 
ive only ever bought 2 clutch cover gaskets

i cover the aluminum bit facing the rough side of the gasket with loctite 518 and the other with anti seize compound.

idea is to glue the gasket to once surface and keep it from sticking to the other
