How to find out what model year engine is ?

So like the thread name say it....is there any possibilities to find this out .
Since my Frame is 2007 iv been told that engine and All components on bike are 2008.
Any chance i can confirm this ? :?

I dont know if this help alot or not.
Engine numbers

Same system as used on KTM;
6-810-07100
"6" = year of manufacture (2006)
"810" = denotes capacity (450cc)
"07100" = individual engine build number
550 is "815" and the 650 is "820" (Ausberg)
---------------------------------------------------

but on top of my cylinder it starts with 800 XX *** ***
looks like something like that
am i looking at wrong place ? or

Mines a few inches above oil filler cap, just behind exhaust
