Hello! I am new on this forum, and a newbie with Husaberg.
I have bought a 2005 Husaberg FS650E (brandnew, 0 miles/km)

I have been riding for more then 500 km now, so i want to check he valve clearance.
How do i it? How can i find the TDC?(top dead center) There is no "peekhole" in the ignition cover. Can i remove the ignition cover without draining the oil?

Thanks!

you can look in the owners docs on your left hand side and do the 1/8th turn method or buy a porche tappett tool and try and do it with the feeler guage (porche tappetts set at .10 the same as the bergs and just as tight to get at the tool is L shaped and makes it easyer).first remove tank and plastics next remove tappett covers and spark plug now remove the ignition cover (no oil in this so dont worry)now get a 17" socket on a Tbar and turn the engine clock wise till the inlett valves shut then carry on till the exhaust open then shut next the inlett will open and then shut again you will notice two marks on the flywheel when the very first mark clockwise is inline with the top bolt whole this is tdc check by turning back slightly and putting a long screwdriver down the plug whole and then turn the fly wheel clockwise till the screwdriver stops riseing the mark should be where the bolt whole is.now adjust the tappetts by undoing the 10mm lock nut then turn the screw head down till it makes contact now alighn one corner of the nut with the slot in the screwhead and hold it then turn the screw 1/8 of the flat on the nut hold the screw and tighten the nut do this with the others.it is dificult to start with it took me an hour and half first time now about half hour start to finnish.one point dont touch the position of the stator inside the cover you have removed this is the ignition timing if it runs ok leave this bit alone.wipe the inside out and spray a little wd40 and refitt then start.good luck :D

Hello Steert, and welcome,

Make sure you properly torque the lock nuts when changing the valve lash.
