I search on forum but cant find the answer , i don't know how adjusting ignition timing in my berg ,just read owners doc but i have different SEM stator :/
you must find the true TDC and make a mark on the flywheel exterior and then 'tipp-ex' it. youcan put a 'indicator/tear drop' on a screw and do exactly the same dead stop test to get this. TDC should be a mark inline with the screw at 8 o clock. it doesn't have to be at 12 o clock.
then put a strobe on it and see wha you have. for you, to adjuct this, you must remove the flywheel and adjust the stator, refit and try again. slow work.
your flywheel will be the other way around but still make a white line like this has.
when the engine is at TDC, make the line at 8 o clock. you then strobe the white line to the teardrop but t 8 o clock and not 12 o clock like the later engines.
i know mate, read the second paragraph, i explain that you need a 'TDC mark' and that to adjust the ignition timing you'll have to remove the flywheel. it's not that hard!
