Hi all i have fallen in love with the 011 390 and still have not felt one yet. Sat on this years and it seems tall i'm 5.10 and i am on my toes to touch the ground. Springs and valves will be done to suit my weight 72kg(dry) and was after some advice about lowering it some? It will be doing bush work single trail tech and some open stuff. Would running the front down a notch or two and maybe set the sag a little more still be ok or is my thinking wrong? Cheers Geoff.

I am 5 11 on a 2010 390 and it works for me. Put on Renthal bars 997 last nite. Going to the track this Sunday. Really excited!

I'd guess you're on the light side of standard so presumably if you're changing the springs it will be for slightly softer ones? If so you probably didn't have enough race sag when you tried the bike so you'll find it sits a little lower when you get that sorted out on your own one. There is also a slightly lower seat - even less padding so it's even harder than the standard one but ok for short rides or if you're standing up most of the time, and does make a small difference to the seat height.

I'm about the same height as you, and with the right springs and a lowered seat I'm still a little on tiptoe but it seems to work out ok in practice. I'd get the suspension set for your weight first then try it and see how you get on, and if necessary maybe borrow a lower seat to try and see if it helps. I'd only start looking at other things if you really need to after that.

Cool thanks guys that all makes sense. Just a little nervous i guess its a lot of money and want to get it right. Cheers

Hey I am 5' 8" and just had my first ride since my sag was set. Setting the sag rasied the back 20~25mm, while he was setting the sag I was sweating thinking about being even higher off the ground :?

I am on my tippy toes and going OK. There are always going to be places where you are never going to touch the ground on the single track and wind up on your bum. That's most rides for me :(
