how reliable are bergs?

Hey, I'm new here, and I just wanna know how reliable Husabergs are, compared to, say, Suzukis. I know bergs used to have some problems with reliability, but I hear they're a lot better now.

My 2005 FE 550 has been very reliable. I have had no starting or durability issues with my bike. It can run hard and fast continuously. It is also good in the woods. I have always been nervous of deep water, even though the bike has stalled out in deep water it has always restarted. So far only wear items to replace on this bike.

Husabergs are race bikes and do need looking after, regular oil and filter changes are essential (every 6 hours or so). Ive had bergs for years and if maintained should give you little trouble and in my experience are just as reliable as other 4 strokes, ie YZFs. This site is great, everything you need to know is here.

don't mistaken a race bike that needs maintenance with a bike that breaks.

i trust you understand the difference...

It seems every year they get more of the "Berg quirks" out of them. I havent heard anything bad about the 05 and newer bikes.
