How noisy is your 570 engine?

My FS570 has 10,000kms on the engine now and was always a bit of a rattler which from what i read and am told by the dealer is normal. I fitted a DJH tensioner to try quieten it down a bit which did help a little but i still think its noisy when riding it using my MX helmet..i don't hear anywhere near as much noise with my full face though..should i be worried? im thinking maybe i should try adjusting the timing chain tensioner again? but am concerned about over tightening it arghhhh! :furious: I plan on doing a valve clearance check on my next oil change too just to see where they are at.

What are you thoughts 570 riders?

I'll try, im going to reset the timing chain tension on the manual adjuster and will film what it sounds like after that.

noise

you are probably hearing a lot more intake noise with the moto helmet. Mine bike seems to also run louder if I ride it hard for a coupe of hours.

Okay, so i reset the timing chain tension and i think it had somehow backed off a little bit because it sounds quieter now. Might post a vid after i do the valve clearance check.

Mine is Quite noisy it has always sounded about the same, even after a top end rebuild, timing chain, piston rockers etc... apart from when the tentioner packed up, nothing like my old 520 ktm though, that sounded like it was going to explode but never did. I made an aluminium bash plate for the 570 that makes it sound even worse. When it is hot it is a little noisier, I guess the oil thins out a little.

I also have the djh tensioner and confused about adjusting some adjust it when engine is running and turn in till the bike is less noisey but I feel this way it is to tight....
The manual says turn in till it contacts and than 1/2-3/4 turns in this way my bike still rattles quite a bit...Would be nice to see everyone post a picture of theyre tensioner (djh) and hours on the chain....
to see how many threads ;) this is with new camchain

I ended up removing the top cover and checking the play on the chain, because as you say if one goes by sound it seems way to tight. When I was happy using that method I ended up with what the DJH manual says, between 1/2 and 3/4 turn extra after contact.

I just used the DJH instructions to adjust mine and have about 1 less thread then yours showing, it's the original chain though so my adjustment isn't going to be the same as yours.
