How much Oil?

I have a FS650E the manual says to fill the filter area half way so it has some oil in it so when you start the bike after a change.

Then it says to put 1 litre in the case. So how oil are you putting in? What happends if I have 1200mls of oil?
 
in the doc under "Engine tolerances and blueprinting - oil level" tells you what you should end up with.
an oil change takes approximately 1 liter.
it ain't rocket science :wink:
 
I put in 1000 ml after a rebuild and 900 ml after every oil change.This puts at the bottom of the site window while sitting level.And half up the glass when running at a idle.
