How Many Husaberg Riders Does It Take To Change A Headlight Bulb?

Well I guess the answer is one if they know how but I am writing this post since I cannot figure out how and cannot find the instructions on how to do it.

I have a 2002 FE650 with the stock lighting. I am planning to replace the headlight with an LED. Sounds simple enough until I tried to get the original bulb out of the headlight assembly. The original bulb is too big to fit in the hole in the back of the headlight reflector. So I cannot get it out.

My question is does the headlight lens come off the headlight assembly? I don't want to force it if this is not the case.

you put the bulb in at the rear. pull the three pin connector off. pull the round rubber cover off and look for two clip wires to unhook.

don't touch the new bulb with you fingers. handle through paper towel etc.

I did all that but when I tried to remove the bulb it is TOO big to fit thru the hole. Does the lens come off?

When you installed the street setup is the lens attached to the reflector of do you have to glue it on? The parts manual shows three different lenses for the reflector. I could see that the bulb was inserted before the lens was attached. No way did that bulb go in from the back.

Well having been in the Army I learned if it won't come off never to use excessive force, just a bigger hammer. I took the headlight off and got to the bulb and found that it was just slightly too big for the hole due to some material on the inside of the hole. So with a little prying with a screwdriver and a wiggling (the bulb not me) I did get it out. I will post a photo when I can of the bulb and the new LED once I get it installed.

Hi eplanto,

I have tried some LED bulbs in tail lights on the bergs with no success as, at least on the taillights, the power is coming straight from the alternator ie AC current. You may run into the same problem on the headlight which means a small diode is needed to chop the ac back to DC to run an LED globe.
Best of luck

I guess I lucked out. I now have a LED headlight, taillight, and rear blinkers. All are working fine so far.
