How many hours until first major service FE390?

All, I am new to the board here. Looking at a 2010 FE390 that has about 60 hours on it. Bike is very clean. My concern is that it is getting close to a major service needed. At what point does the engine need major service? I am coming from a CRF250X that just needed valves adjusted every year. Are the Berg's any more needy for service??

Thx!

Others will chime in. The bikes oil changes at 1 hr, 3hr, then every 15 hrs. The valves have a reputation of rarely being out of spec with adjustment required early on - perhaps.

Others will state mechanical 'to look fors...'

My opinion is that of "as needed". You may consider checking the valve lash at 60 hours. As long as it's quiet and there is no metal in the oil, screens or filter. Life is good. My 09 570 has 100 hours on the clock and seems fine. I have not checked the valve lash yet, as I see no reason for it. The oil gets changed at around 15 hours, the air filter and chain serviced every ride. The oil at 15 hours still looks new.

Dont fear the valves in this engine, or its ktm counter parts. They are solid.

The 250X was/is a nightmare, I think most modern dirt bikes will be much easier on their valves.
