how lucky are you?

it was the tell tale whistle that made me grin! the unmistakeable noise of incoming heavy calibre!!! it is guaranteed to make your heart miss a beat. followed the link on that site to the celebration of the attack on the hummer...that just pure winds me up!!!

girl i work with. her hubby is off to afghanistan. she is not a happy bunny but accepts its part of being in the military.
one thing that was said is that the british army are fast running out of people as we don't get to hear about those seriously injured or who die of injuries later.
sad state of affairs especially as the majority of folks don't actual realise that we are in reality, at war in 2 countries.

I caught a ricochet from my onw rifle (.22cal air rifle) right in the forehead once - that was bad enough!

Azza.

I did the same, well apart from it hitting me in the leg and it was a .22LR.

no matter WHAT you get shot with it's no damn fun. got hit from about 25 yards with a load of birdshot on the dove field last year. lots of fun having the doc pick that stuff out of yer back and scalp LOL

Well, I did shoot somebody in the face by accident. We were all teens and playing with a friend's dad rifles. We were all drunk and celebrating some soccer win (I think France vs Brazil in 86). And although it was only a pellet gun, it actually lodged itself in his cheek.

Kids + alcohol + rifles (even pellet guns) = no good.

After that we moved to bigger calibers. Tracers are fun to shoot in the dark.

We took him to the hospital the next day because it really looked bad. I don't remember what stupid lie we made up but his dad found out about the expanded ammo in his backyard (behind his house was a wheat field, FYI).

Sadly, Germany beat us in the semi.
