HOW HARD CAN IT BE?

I just picked up my fe400 from the shop today. I am going to fix it myself. I'll need to split the cases and clean them out to eliminate any metal bits from the roller bearings/tappets that got munched. I have never split a husaberg case. I have done plenty of asian 2-stroke cases. Is there anything special I should be aware of before attempting this feat? :toothless:

I don't know if your question has been answered yet, so I'll tell you that I don't think it will be any more difficult than most two strokes if you're careful. Photograph the parts before you take them off the engine and you'll be more confident during reassembly. If you get into it and have trouble, just repost and you'll get all the help you need here on UHE! :D 8) 8) 8) 8)

Another thing that helps is to get a box of medium and large zip lock baggies to place all your bits-n-pieces into while awaiting re-assembly. You can lose some small parts or forget to install something when putting the bike back together. I try to lay the pieces together the same way they came out whenever possible to simplify things. Keep all the parts grouped together so you don't end up with a few washers and screws left over when your done and not know where they go

Regards,
