How bad could it be

98 fc 501. Well I was up and running good after putting the motor together, had about 3 hours on it, took it apart for cleaning and pictures to post and started it up and went up the it sputtered and died. Got it home and notice I was leaking oil from flrwheel cover a and every place where formagasket is. It all turned to mosh. The leftovers totally clogged the oil sceen. The oil turn black really fast because before cleaning, it was deceit. So how bad could it be. I have not pulled the motor part yet, but I'm worried about the oil pump. It didn't get hot because the oil in the magneto shut the bike down. Hoping still good too. All input on what to expect is greatly appreciated since I just did all bearings, big end on the rod and wrist pin.

there shouldn't be any oil in the stator cover. sure you can catch the lip of the seal etc but the other danger is the main bearings giving up the ghost!

oil will go black very quickly if you didn't wash the cases out 100% and just did a general wash of old engine oil.

so what is on the oil screen fella? your English is worse than those here who speak it as a third language!

I don't so but he's is very good at it though!!! But not very creative. Just blunt. Ductbuner Taffy my give you right answer but if not you find some here who will. Good Luck.

At least Taffy knows how to speak English.

Some other people need to go back and check their vocabulary.

Because half of what they say can't be understood.

Sometimes it would nice to have Taffy translate. More then a few times I had no idea what he was saying. Not saying anything bad about him but UK slang like any other slang is hard to understand if you don't know. Taffy (old dog new tricks) don't think that will change

you see C337b, unlike you, I'm useful and answer people's questions so while you were looking at my answers, I, was looking at his question!

now if you had seriously looked at his question, i mean really looked at it, you would also see that it is almost unreadable in places and to think, English is his countries first language!

I also suggest that as you have been a member of this illustrious web site for nigh on ten years yet only posted 172 miserly posts that your talents, typing, temper and talent are sadly lacking.

I suggest its not a case of saying something nice but of saying something meaningful. something you are sadly lacking in....

I have to agree that someone from oregon should have better english but there are tons of people from mexico there who speak little to no english. Your engine could be anywhere from not bad too completely trashed, you have to get into it before you know.

I would think that with oil starvation the overhead would be damaged first. But what do i know.

Every one is taking it for granted that dustburner first language is English? We don't know. If it wasn't for spell check I'd be dead in water.

Alright you bashers. Its not like I have a fancy key board, but trying touch these little *** letters without touching others before it logs me out and lose everything all over again is a wounder that this tablet isn't in pieces. Now what happen someone poured Lacker thinner in mythical cases melted the formagasket and gummed up the oil screen. If it wasn't for that oil seal going in the magneto shutting the bike down the motor would toast. A good flush of oil is a good call. I will be splitting the case but it looks good so far. I pary the magneto is OK. So lighten up a bit.

I just said it short and sharp and to the point like I always do. If I did less posts then I would help less people.

I don't usually have a sideswipe but this time I did. but just let it wash over you. let him decide if he's insulted by it.

i don't even mind that you tell me, oddly enough what fecks me off is that you don't even get the essential part of what I'm doing, that I've helped the guy while you sit on your fat bits.

and that I haven't placed a personal attack on him, called him names, used foul language.

seems to me you have a low threshold of pain.

I'm passing on my best thoughts on the subject, keeping it short and sharp. If people want a spade to be called a bloody shovel like you then fine but I think there's nothing in it and he said nothing and nobody else would have bothered.

I rarely get thanked directly, I always get "everyone knows you do a lot for people Taffy".

really?

is that a thank you or is that confirming that someone else once years ago thanked you. the other classic is

yeh you need a sticking plaster

you need a sticking plaster on that bullet wound.

and then I say, "you need an operation and the bullet removing, you'll have lost blood and need three weeks of recuperation with regular physio. back to work in about 6 weeks all being well".

and what does the owner always say: "thank you all for everyone's help"

I mean really!

so just maybe there's more than one arsehole in the building..............

PS: still didn't understand a word he said

Taffy You have a tougher skin then Me. But I think when You give advice and you get nothing back. That sucks. So sometimes anything back is OK.
