Anyone come across a cam marked WW-HC 1G number 15. Was told it was fitted in a KTM but was far too 'hairy'! Searched Hotcams website and googled it but nothing comes up!

its probably the HC 3015 grind

some early ones have DHR15 engraved on them

Im running one in my 628 you loose a bit of bottom end compared "08" profile approx 12-15% if you want to keep it need to go to go from 11.8:1 up to about 12.8:1

its a top end revy kind of cam

Just had a reply from Hotcams and yes it's the 3015, stage 1. I can afford to lose a little bottom end, in road racing once you've launched off the line we tend to keep the rev needle pointing straight up!:p
Would the cam work in the 644cc? The 628cc would be a bit more revvy with the shorter stroke? (sorry, thinking out loud!)
What piston are you using to raise the compression? Off the shelf or highly modded by you!

Many thanks;)

Looking at the TM`s 660 bore x stroke 104mm x 77.4mm , I think the shorter
stroke is the way to go.
TMs were pretty successful in SM.

Gday Canolman

go for a 13:1 644 dude!

im just using a prox "650" piston (elko copy) normally the CR with the 80mm stroke would be 11.8:1 like stock but my block and head have been machined both by me and other POs the CR is about 12.6 :1

becasue of that teh cam chain was too short so i had to move the cam up 1mm then had to grind clearance out of the rocker arms for the cam lobes, spanner made a special cam chain tensioner for his bike, FD racing uses 2 adjustable tensioners one at the front and one at the back (no headgasket)

look up the specs on a wossner 8583 just need to pop it in a lathe and take some meat out of it to get what you want.

Interesting Bushie, have you made any decisions on a new piston for the 700
yet?
I may need a piston as well.

Ive decided its expensive :)

probably won't be doing anything till end june

if i could just get some 5" round bar 2618 alloy for a good price ......

Can you tell me what the standard compression is for the 644 and the 628? I want to go up a tad but not go crazy!
I take it the 8583 is a straight fit and has plenty of room in the valve pockets etc?
Many thanks

sorry to come in ...but I am planning to add a 3015 in the husaberg ...but to cut the water pump seal can you just use a normal steel hacksaw? it does sound stupid but never cut a cam before :)

I gave up with the hacksaw after 20 second and went on the grinder

For those in Aus, are you aware that Waggot do the 3015?

Has anyone had any experience in regrinding a bike cam?

I wonder how much height would need to be reduced to increase the duration to a worthy amount but still have the valve clearance to suit an avail shim?

570 cam.

Silly thinking?
