OK - new thread as I got wronged for adding to an old a while back but the info contained is relevant (ned) but I take your point...
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5512&p=113490&hilit=horn#p113490
There is also a thread called No horn power that I've explored too - interesting & may be relevant but ??
Anyway need an mot in order to go to FRUK in a couple of weeks & I can't get the horn working.
All the relevant wires are good (continuity checked) (orange / Red-white / brown).
Horn OK (also I've borrowed the horn off my husky which also works).
Battery totally dead - never bother with it now as bike kick starts so easy.
All lights & brake lights work (when running obviously).
Kill switch works (same switch cluster as horn & lights).
Re previous thread (ned / ghost / taffy) if I check the voltage on the battery when engine running I get 0.
If I check the voltage at the reg.rec red&yellow I get 0.02v.
So, sod it I'll take a live from somewhere else & hook it up - only need horn for mot - did ask if I could use an old squeezy reed horn but no chance.
So knowing the lights work, put the volt meter on the headlamp yellow when running & get 0.02v. (&several other places).
Wire it to the horn & get nothing.
Obviously 0.02 is effectively 0 & cant be right - so why do the lights work.
Given, I just need a quick fix - got any ideas...
Thanks,
James
