went back to utah this weekend to ride near green river again. arrived at the exit at about 6pm friday evening to see half a dozen toy haulers parked, CURIOUS. drove 2 miles down the dirt road to find back ups of vehicles on both sides of the wash. the wash was absoletely raging, impassable. it was dropping rapidly and a suv with a trailer was the guinea pig and made it through no problem after waiting another 30 minutes. i crossed no problem and drove the 10 muddy miles in. it was a circus on the plateau because normally people camp and park down near the wash but the road was washed out so everyone was packed in a fairly small area. at about 8pm it started raining again and poured all night. seeing the effects of all that water was pretty incredible. i have been to the desert well over a 100 times and have never seen it like this. went back up the road the next day on the berg to see the damage. there were channels in the road everywhere. past a lifted full size ford that had been washed off the road last night, WOW. someone told me that all this crazy weather was due to GLOBAL WARMING. i think i will sell the bergs and join the SIERRA CLUB, NOT! the word is definitely out about green river riding, lots of out of state plates. also lots of new BLM signs and regs.
