I was speaking with a new Berger friend about best bang for the buck mods to do on my 08 fe650 and he mentioned-

"try the hole in the seat mod to help the engine breath better good for a couple of hp"

Has anyone tried this mod, have pics, and jetting specs if it was needed?

Thanks!

I have seen one like so once, it was well done with wire mesh.
I think it was one of the first husaberg's I had ever seen.

I pointed out to me mate mick that such a thing would work well with him farting all the time, but pointed out only be carful that he might end up flipping it when he did fart.

That mick was like he was rotting from the inside back in them days, I would of been truly worried if it was me that was like that:eek: the bastard had me dry reaching once out in the bush and I was at least 40ft away from him, no joke you could taste it and cut the air with a knife.

Haven't heard of it done to pre 70* Bergs, not to say it hasn't been done.

With the 70*'s I just cut back the radiator shrouds and pull back the seat cover and remove 1/2"/12mm from the seat to open up the airbox while retaining a factory look.

Hi Alan,
When you did the mod did you change AFR as well or was it even needed. Haven't seen a definite answer to whether the bike runs too lean or not. I'm riding at sea level.

I've not seen any power figures for this and i'm not sure how it can help given that there are two bits of foam between the frame the fuel tank that you would always remove first.

the biggest restriction is the 'rubber boot'. that is why the belmouth and cone air filter come first on the list.

Yeah absolutely mate. First up I ran the Vortex ECU and at the moment it's running the remapped ECU as the Vortex is living in the FX450 ATM.
