Higher Octane vs. No Ethanol

I live in Colorado and have been using 91 octane with ethanol in my 2010 FE450 since day one. Also use Techron and Seafoam often. No fuel pump issues yet...

Going forward, should I use:

87 octane with NO ethanol (from lake marina)

OR

91 octane with up to 10% ethanol

Im going to go out on a lim here and say 87 no ethenol would be more than fine with your elevation, 98 RON i think is whats specified which translates to somewhere between 91 and 93 octane if i remember right, im at 1000ft elevation and cant tell a difference between 87 with ethenal and 91 with ethenal or 93 no ethanol for that matter, i notice in my car 87 w/o ethanol runs better then 87 with ethanol and also slight fuel economy/power increase/smoother operation but never got a chance to run to w/o ethanol in the bike but 87 with 10% runs great for me.
worse case scenario you can always switch back......

Hey you guys have 85 octane out there huh? wanna hear it ping?
I spent a year in tech school in wyoming and when i moved back i brought a almost full 5 gallon gas can of 85 octane with me and could hardly start a brush fire with it in Wi......ok just kidding on the last part it started fires just fine, i couldnt bring myself to put it in an engine though but i thought about it real hard......
