Is this adjustment only velocity sensitive? Is it functional everywhere in the stroke or just during the final travel? Is there a limit to it's adjustment, i.e. stops moving at 4 turns out?

hi neil

seems a bit pathetic that you can't physically answer the last question yourself?

still, whilst you were in the armchair hey!

it works at the bottom of the stroke so unless you can tell me how at 5mph i can get the arse end to G-out shall we tale it that it's velocity sensative? thought so!

it's there to stop you bottoming out-to slow it down. you would notice it along a line of rollers taken as fast as you dare. the bike recovers far quicker over each one with the HSCD set high.

Thanks Mr Taffy. Knowing that the adjuster has a travel stop would prevent me from making a big mistake. I thought I might have been bottoming the suspension, but I suspect it was touching down on the urethane bumper. Would the HSCD be noticeable prior to bumper contact?

definately. look the easiest way is to hit some rollers and try the extremes of adjustment - it'll be very clear. the bike recovers very quickly and you hit the tops and don't visit the 'faces'.

The HS adjuster allows preload on the spring of the LS adjusters seat to be adjusted. So adjusting the HS effects ALL speed ranges. It does have an effect on dynamic ride height, especially on corner exit, if you don't also tune the LS clicker to suit. They DO have a limited adjustment range, just like any threaded part.

Here is some more info on how these work: http://www.racingsuspensionproducts.com ... ockua.html

OH...it has NOTHING to do with the position of wheel travel. It just splits the oils flow into the reservior over two circuits. ALL shock adjusters have a spring loaded seat. When they added the HS adjuster it just made it so you could externally adjust the preload instead of removing the adjuster and changing preload shims.
