high an low map

can any one tell me if i take the high an low switch off what setting does the bike have high or low ?? on a 02 650sm and can you upgrade from the sem elec thats on the bike ?? i want a lighter fly wheel so iam looking at one from a mx bike ? will this work ???? cheers
 
Hi

The bike will be in low, I mean what you see when looking to the switch.

The Flywheel of the MX bike its the same as the others, but if you whant I will change my MX flywheel and stator against yours !!

Flywheel from a FC bike is definately NOT the same ;)
 
I dindn't new that, thought only tha stator was diferent.

If you disconnect the Hi/Low switch the setting will be in Hi.
If you want the setting to be Low then connect the Black and Blue wires together.

Check out the wiring diagram for a -03 then you will see how the switches are connected internally.

Lo is to the left and Hi is to the right. (looking at the switch right now)

We are saying the same, because I say what I can read ("looking and the switch"), so my LOW its yours HI.

No we are not saying the same thing. My first post was referring to what the wiring diagram says, not what is printed on the outside of the switch. Looking at the outside of the switch will not tell you what happends with the ignition system when the switch is removed, which was what mk4 wanted to know.

In the wiring diagram for the -03 you can see how the switch is connected internally and which switch position that affects the ignition. Sadly you can't see that in the wiring diagram for the -02.
