Hidden Kill Switch Question?

Hi everyone,

Looking to install a hidden kill switch on my 08 Fe450.

Is there any harm in splicing a toggle switch between the oem kill switch wire and grounding it...
(kind of like a redundant kill switch that would be permanently grounded until the circuit is broken manually)

OR

Install an inline toggle switch on the ignition coil wire, (ON/OFF switch)

Not sure what would be a safer route to take?

If you haven't downloaded the manual yet you can do that here.

No harm unless there's corrosion in the splicing and the Kill Switch stops working, but then you know where to look. ;)

If your bike has the wiring harness with turn signals there should be an Yellow/Black cable (Kill Switch cable) somewhere with a connection in the end (that's not connected) that you could connect your switch to. (other end of your switch connects to ground of course)

That's what I would do.

Regards

Nick

UPDATE:

Nick was 100% correct, minimal wiring and it works like a charm.
Thanks
