Hi guys. I just got my first berg!! I`ve been regular reader on this site, but never joined as member. Now i got my own berg , and i finally had reason to join:)

My bike is a fe650 07 only used 42 hours.
But to my big disappointment, when i had it on the tracks for the first time i discovered
some problems.
I thought the bike was in good condition when i bought it.
But im kinda of a noob when it comes to bergs, and im not a good mechanic overall.

My first problem is that the bike wont start with the starter or the "kicker", it will only start with a starting booster hooked up, probably a valva adj and dead batt? some advise pleas?! should i buy new battery, what battery?

My second problem is that the front tire sits closer to the left fork and touches it in corners, what should i do? On the left side of the tire you have 2 metal rings, but on the right side only one. Could that be the problem? Sorry for my bad English i dont know the all the words so its difficult to explain. All comments and advice will be highly appreciated!!!

Hi Kevin,
you can download the Owners manual, Spare parts manual and Repair manual from Husaberg website. You can get a lot of useful information from those.

There are a lot of reasons why the bike won't start. If you think that there is a problem with the battery, take it to a battery dealer and ask them to check how many amperes the battery can provide. They'll have the testers needed.

The problem with the front tire sounds like the front wheel is not installed correctly, or the bearing needs to be changed. You can check the correct installation from the manuals.

welcome to UHE kevin

yes, a new battery and then lets see what happens. new plug?

Unless the battery is always kept plugged into a high quality battery charger like the Optimate 3 or 4, when the bike is not in use, the battery will barely last 2 years max.

When kicking, push the lever through the stroke a bit and then let it return to the resting position. You should hear a click. This means that the kick start activated decompression is engaged. You should now be able to kick it fairly easily.

If it is still hard to kick you may need to adjust the kick start activated decompression cable. See your owners manual. If you are having trouble do not hesitate to let us know.

that oughta confuse him pretty good. but it'll keep him busy lookin fer the click
i don't think his '07 has a k/s cable. :?

Thanks for the advice guys!

After testing the old battery and found out it was almost dead
i bought a new. Changing it was a funny experience for a berg berg noob like
me. Thinking just taking the battery out from the right side of the bike would be easy. After an hour tearing down the bike screw by screw :x , finally realizing that taking of the monoshock at the top was the answer. But the hole experience left me with a much greater understanding of the bike, so I took it with a smile :D. And i changed the plug. Now the bike starts like a dream with starter. My next obstacle will be to get the right valve adjusment to make it start with the kicker, never have done this before can make this an even greater experience.

I thought I needed to take the rear shock off as well but was wrong.

Just needed to take the starter out and the mount and the battery came out

This sounds so much like other new berg owner eg myself all the same problems and fixes and you learn as you go eg like
Hey johneyPark said take the starter out and its easy to get battery out. Saying that i did it you way first time lmao.
