Hi all,
I live in a little village near Peterborough UK and have just got myself a 05 FS450, its done 67.5 hours 2400 miles from new with oil + filter changes every 3 hours. The Guy i bought it from got it from DCR about a year ago and claims the engine was rebuilt before he bought it
i did not see any paperwork to back this up so i cant be sure. Anyway had a blast out yesterday and its a complete hoot i loved it, just got to find some S/Moto riders around here now to have a play with. After spending ages reading through this great site that has answered many of my questions it looks like im going to give Taffy a call in the early part of the week to see if i can run my bike down in the van for him to have a listen to and his thoughts on any work that may need doing as i have a little bit of noise coming from the LH side clutch cover area, again after reading up this could be a few things or nothing at.
Sorry for the long first post.

Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy & wellcome aboard. I'm just outside Wisbech & Martyn 190 is in Peterborough (both of us enduro) but it's handy to know where people are for spares / lifts etc. Where are you.

Hi Mate,

I live in Thurlby between Market Deeping and Bourne, only 15 mins from P/Boro. Nice to know a couple of guy's are not far away for advice on Husabergs, only had it since Weds last week and it is in lovely condition, i just wish i had more history on the motor like i said i can hear a noise from the L/H casing but my brother in law is an ex FS450 owner and said his was the same even after service ect.

you've got gear4 in market deepjng. they are a husaberg dealer. infact i was at the bike show on thursday with james (arkley) and KTM said that gear 4 were the husaberg dealer for the whole of east anglia! we pointed out that it was sush a sheethole to get too (not gear4 but mkt deeping) that james wouldn't drive there even from wisbech.

to non feniees reading this it's pronounced 'wiz-beach'). oh well!

Taffy

I know the lads in Gear4 quite well Taffy, my 18 year old nephew has been learning his trade in the workshop there for 2 years now. I was in there yesterday showing him my Berg and I got some bits for a rebuild priced up which tbh quite shocked me a bit,I'm sure stuff for my speedway and grasstrack engines were never that expensive. That is why i was going to take a trip over to you as looking at your site I somehow figure you won't be as expensive.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Hi new Berg owner Cambs UK

if it's OEM i can't be any cheaper i reckon. but i do a lot of aftermarket stuff at 50% off the OEM prices etc.

i'll be looking for an insiders story and all the gossip from you from now on!

Yes mate all OEM stuff he did check for aftermarket stuff but didn't come up with anything, honestly my jaw dropped when he told me the price of a piston and gasket set. And yes he will pass any info on to his favourite uncle.

Just to clarify - I'm sure G4 would be great for me & all my family if I had a katoom - fantastic marketing machine - they even sell babies KTM dummies & KTM comdoms...seriously...ask the integrity police, I'm telling you...but for older bergs, don't bother. I've had to chase then up on finding parts for my 02 only to be told they don't cater for older bergs. Could have told me that when I rang - not waited til I had to chase them up....but thats the way it is these days.

We're lucky to have the UHE & bods like taffy who'll get the bits made for you if they cant find them.
