Hi/lo /start button

My bike no longer has starter or any electrics until it’s kicked.

I never use the lo feature so just trying to tidy up my bars.

How do I remove the whole lot and leave it in high?

I’m not electrically minded!
Got
Blue n yellow
Orange
Light blue
Black

All going into the button.

It’s a 2002 fs650e I’ve unplugged it and it’s stared and ran fine. Usually won’t start in low so wonder if that’s all I need?

If its for your FS650 than it does not make sense as brown is ground to headlight green is low beam and blue is high beam at headlight. I am guessing orange is kill and blu/yel is start. Black? sure its not brown? Is the switch original or something someone added? Best way is to disconnect at connector and bridge a wire from power behind headlight area to blue and green and you will have both low and high beam on for the most complete light. This might overheat the bulb and make its life shorter.
 
Hang on as I didn't know it was a 02 and looking at KTM diagram

yellow at headlight needs to be hooked to red/wht wire behind headlight switch

Orange is kill, when put to ground it shuts spark down

Just unplug the switch and hook yellow from headlight to red and wht wire from anywhere. I take it the battery is gone as well?
 
sorry but I think you will have to leave it on the bike. It is internaly switched and not just as simple as bridging two wire together. I would guess it to be a type of potentiometer of some sort.
Cant help you with this one as schematics don't give that much detail and would need engineering info.
 
Thanks anyway. I’ll leave it unplugged and take it fir a ride see how it feels. If it feels ******** I’ll wire it back up and just hide it.

FYI, Blue and Yellow are mapping and Blue is mapping as well. I don't know but you could try with them hooked together and not hooked together.

Orange is kill and black is ground so the only combo I could see is the resistance between blu/yel and blu. try with hooked together and with them open and see what happens?

The mapping is the grey one, it is grounded or not.

You can do that with a simple on/off switch.

I think if it's not you are in high ?? but not sure, have to check

If it's like that you just have to disconnect.

To be sure I would have to check, maybe someone remembers

I disconnected it and the bikes running. I couldn’t start it previously in low setting. I’ll take fir a ride and see how it goes

looked at schematic again. At the connector the colors change, The four colors you gave are from switch to connector, Just disconnect the connector and bridge as Zaga noted. At the switch the map bridge is between blue and black. At the connector on the other side is grey and black.
 
Thanks guys. Took it for a spin and it felt ok, not noticeably underpowered. I’ll bridge the two wires and see if it’s any different. To be fair I could just leave the switch connected and hide it behind the number board.
