Hi,

My name is Ron and live in Dubai.

I have just picked up a beauty... a 2010 FX450 with 35 hrs on the clock.
She runs like brand new and came with heaps of extra stuff such as a brand new extra set of original blue plastics.. (original white ones are fitted now)

Got brand new Husaberg Ralley riding gear with it that doesn't fit me and will be posting it on the forum later on. I hope I can make somebody happy with it.

Have a great New Year

Ron

Here are some pics...
I personally like the Berg in white.

I spent one day driving in the Dubai dunes, so much fun! As we talked about bikes on a break the guide told me they tried the 70 degree as rental bikes but they struggled with overheating. If you kept the speed up they were ok but probably as the routing of the exhaust is as it is and the overall design so compact the engine got too warm too easy.

So maybe you should look into reflective tape under the fuel tank, wrapped exhaust, double fans (one on each cooler) and a less restrictive muffler? You can find info and experience on this site :)
You could also drill small holes in the shrouds, or just cut away some plastics, around the airbox to let cooler air in. That is a good thing to do anyway imo. I can take a picture of how I did it.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the info....I am aware of some of these issues. My fiend is running a bike rental business here in Dubai and he said the same, but is only happens when riders that are not experienced riding in the sand get stuck and start cooking their engines.... our speeds on a ride average some 65 to 70 kmh so keeping airflow is not much of an issue

The previous owner already wrapped the back part of the exhaust header and put reflective tape under the tank. Also a fan was installed.

I am planning to wrap the front part of the exhaust header as well (mainly to protect my over the boot pants) and uncork the exhaust muffler to get it to flow better. Didn't think of the additional fan though. Will keep an eye on her and can always add this one later as well.

Here is a video of the group I go out riding with.

Hi Ron

Are you perhaps a member on the South African Adventure Biking forum called "Wild Dogs"?
Your username sounds familiar and I thought that perhaps Ive spoken to you before?

Anyways, have you sold your Rally clothing yet, I am super keen if you have it still.

Thanks
