Hi Guys

Just got my 2013 FE450 Husaberg it has 2,500 km's on it. Picked it up Tuesday am going for a ride this weekend keen as.

This is my first 'big bike' that's mine. I've only ever ridden my brothers and only ever owned a small bike (125cc) of my own, so keen to have my own.

If anyone has any tips, or good additions to do to my bike I'm all ears (Sprocket sizes, ecu mapping, etc...) especially what motor oils, gearbox oils, radiator fluids that are best to use for this bike.

See you guys around.

Welcome!!

Down under I believe you have access to Delo 400 oil. This is good stuff according to our fellow aussies here on the forum.

Pre-2013 they're single-cavity oiled, i.e. no separate gearbox oil - not sure about the '13+?

Gday mate,

I use Delo400 in mine (2005 and 2003) and I personally like it. The best part is you can buy a 20lt drum of it for about $120 I think so it makes oil changes fairly inexpensive. Therefore your more inclined to do it too!! ;)

Welcome!

Will definitely be looking into the 20L drum. Much rather pay $120 for 20L then $120 for 4L. :furious:

Is this the correct oil, I'm not thinking so because it says it's for diesel engines.

Yes mate that looks like it. It is indeed a heavy duty diesel oil however it has the JASO specification for wet clutches. I think there are a few threads on here about it, maybe just do your own research on it as I am not familiar with the viscosity etc for the newer bikes. I'm sure though it would be OK. There would be a heap more discussion on the net about it too I suppose. Just remember everyone has an opinion, mine is I like it, I use it and it's been great.

I'd be looking at getting it from your local Caltex depot if you decide to go that way, it will be slightly cheaper than from say a service centre.

Good luck

Damo

DELO 400 15/40 Multigrade is the one. Been using it for years in my Bergs and others in my fleet without issue.

And welcome to UHE ;)

Cheers thanks, I inquired about it as was told it was $105 per 20L drum. Not sure if this is a decent price, but it seems decently priced.
