I'm new to husaberg and just got myself a road registered 1997 501but looking at the engine it's got 470 stamped on it . Will the 470 top end fit the 501 bottom or will it be a 470 engine. Also will there much difference from the 501 to a 470 . Any info would be greatly appreciated thanks...baz

the 1997 engine is completely different to the period that the 470 engine was produced which was just 2001-2002. the 470 had the waterpump on the sidecover and your 1997 bike should have the W/P on the head so let's start by finding out where the W/Ps are?
the engines swop so anything is possible till we know more.
