I have tried to wire up my Horn to the Berg but no go.

I have tried wires 1+2 - 2+1, 3+4 - 4+3, 5+6 - 6+5, 7+8 - 8+7, 9 not sure. I am fairly new to this whole electronics thing and have had no luck and now am thinking I may require 3 wires not 2. Can someone shed some light on it for me. Please see images

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Without thinking I think it is number nine. When I tried to do that it was a black wire. I checked the wire with a meter and it was as it was written in the manual. But, it didn't worked. The problem is that you have AC and DC both. I had a DC horn but it was AC in the wire.

Check that, does your horn require DC?

No go on number 9

I have no idea if it is AC or DC It is a HO5 M.S.C 12Volt SML Horn.

thanks though :)

The headlight should be AC. If it doesn't work with a wire from the headlight but with wires from the battery you need DC.

However, it was long time since I looked at it.

I checked the wiring diagram, the black should be one of them. It's the ground and the connection to the switch. The other should be a red/white.

The horn requires DC so even if you connect it with the right wires and they haven't gone through the regulator/rectifier, it will not work.

horn

factor, I just had a quick gander at the "down loadable" wiring diagram (here) and it looks as tho you need to use the BK (black wire 9) and the RD ( red wire either 7 or 8) which runs to your brakes etc.
And yes it is 12 volts DC.

Thanks guys I too found a diagram and tried as you have stated a black and then a Red/White. Presto the old horn was sounding loud and strong. Thanks for all your help guys you rock :)
