Help with Rekluse tuning

Well I got my Rekluse for my 04 550 and installed it last night. Bike started right up with no drag at all, idles great and seems to have good hook up (no slipping) however, I opted to keep the clutch lever but it does absolutly nothing at the moment. limp throughout the pull. the bike is also a bit difficult to up shift. It will do it but not cleanly like as with the clutch lever.

I also get a squeal when I am a gear or two high and give it some throttle.

any suggestions?

current set up is as per the install instructions with just replacing the top two stock steel plates with the rekluse plates and 1 tungsten 1 steel all the way around. except for I am using the shorter wave spring and one washer for the low rpm engagement. Just FYI the clutch only has about 8 hours on it.

Thanks

risky great job the squeel is normal also use delo 400,

do not continue to pull the cluth lever when motor is not running,

read manual!

Hey Boss,

The Cutch lever has no resistance when the bike is running or not. from what i understood the clutch lever should override the z-start if wanted, but it does not do that at the moment. The rekluse manual does not state anything about this particular issue that i can find.

I am running Delo 400 always have, always will... untill advised otherwise by the people in the know...

sooo. what did I do wrong>... seems to work great other than the above mentioned problems...

I now you told me to wait... but i just could not resist...

Jared,
When the bike is not running the clutch lever will have no feel to it as you descibe. When it does run it should have tension on it somewhat like normal.
If there is no tension while running I am going to assume that somehow you may have got some air in the system. I have had good luck bleeding them like would automobile brakes. pump it up, hold the lever in, crack the bleeder, tighten the bleeder and repeat. I recommend Magura Blood for the fluid but any high quality mineral oil may be used.

we have a huge thread here if you do a search. gruntenberg was the author. stick gruntenberg and rekluse in a search and PLEASE add to that thread if possible.

i added to it only about a week ago so why not go through 'mechanical'.

regards

Taffy
