Help ! save the 1 out of 2 Husabergs in Israel

Hi,

I own a 1996 Fe501.
Unfortunately Israel never had a Husaberg dealer and therefore there are only 2 Husabergs in Israel. mine and another 600cc 2001.

Needless to say there are NO spare parts (only KTM parts that fit Husaberg) and until now I managed.. but a week ago my rear break pump has gone dead and I need to replace it.

I can't ride and don't have a clue where to get the part from. ebay doesn't have any (still - its 1996) and the only place I could think of is here.

So please - help saving the extinct Husaberg pupolation in Israel :D .
anyone who knows where I can get this part - please let me know by email ([email protected]) or by phone (+972-54-7719106)

Thanks

I would imagine that the rear brake pump is the same as on many other makes of bike, say husky or some other. give Dan at Motoxotica a call. he is in the US but he would probably be able to steer you in the right direction. 01.707.446.4282

i've got a complete rear brake assy for a '98 i would sell. it includes the master cylinder, hose, and rear caliper.
pm me for details.

also i would take a photo and put it up here. if computer illiterate like me - let us know and we'll laugh at you as well - no! i didn't mean that!!!! what i meant was we'll tell you what else it fits and how to get over it.

by the way the other israeli is also a member here!

regards

Taffy

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I have contacted Dan from Motoexotica (really nice guy) that has this part and at the same time I also placed a bid on the used part on Ebay.
in the meantime a mechanic from Israel is also checking if the pump can be somehow repaired, apparently it leaks from the 90 degree plastic tube on the side of the pump and he is trying to see if this can be disassembled and to replace the seal.

So, I am working on few levels, one of them must work :p

Thanks again for the wonderful help.
If anyone happens to drop by in our little country - let me know and I'll take you offroading :D

RE: Thanks

Ha Jacob! You thought that you could make an offer to take someone riding in Israel if they dropped in... I visit about once per year... Down by Dimona, Mefalsim, Ashqelon, Haifa, and Tefen. Normally my visit is about a week. I would bet the riding in the south or near the south coast is a blast!

Hi Mark,

This sounds like you are challenging my offer :D
I except the challenge with both hands !! whenever you are here and wants someone to ride with - let me know (with a reasonalbe notice) and I will come - doesn't matter if its Dimona and the Negev or Tefen and the Galillee, I have a tralier and I live in the center so its about 2 hours from everywhere in the coutry :)

In the meantime, I am crossing my fingers to take the bid on the break unit... because I found out (the hard way) that riding without rear breaks is not good for you

Hi Jacob,

Thanks, for your reply and offer to get together. It would be neat to learn of your local riding. Orignally, I had planned to visit Israel in about two weeks...however, I am headed to China and Taiwan instead, not likely any riding there as I have not seen any off road types any of the times I have been there...would have much rather been going to your area.

I can relate to no brakes...I finally got my Husaberg out of hibernation...the winter here seemed to last forever this year...The bike started right off, thanks to Stabil in my gas over the winter...I was riding through the forest nearly hitting a few trees wondering why I was so close...not the normal way I ride. After returning to my home, I noticed my rear brake line had disconnected from the fluid reservoir... I wonder how that happened? And, I wonder how long I had been riding that way? I am sure this is the reason for getting so close to the trees. It looks as if I will need to get some brake fluid and do some bleeding now.

I'll try to keep you posted if/when I am to visit Israel again. Meantime, my main email is [email protected]

Mark
