Help - FE450 cuts out all the time since new

I might be showing my lack of knowledge here but have you had your mapping checked? Im not familiar with the need for a "choke" on anything with EFI.

When referring to "tick" are you talking about idle? Sorry, just trying to get a handle on the terminology so i can have a go at understanding the problem. Either way Im sure it's not a big deal, once you sort it out there is no way you will liken it to a "Chinese" bike! When you eventually take it off the tarmac and get onto some serious terrain you will see how great your bike is! I will be keen to hear the outcome of your problem. Hope you get it sorted soon so you can enjoy your machine!

Hi Akshun, yes i was referring to the fact that with choke out whilst cold it idles without any issues until warm then stalls.

Whilst warm it makes no difference whether choke in or out or idle speed adjusted it just coughs and dies

I'm a couple of hours drive from a Hussy dealer and i don't have a trailer hence why I haven't had the mapping checked yet.

Ok. Now I've changed: iridium plug, plug cap and new pulser coil. Still no help. :(

Thinking of trying new ignition coil next...

Would not have thought it was a mapping problem  , Plug, Cap, Injector would be the first things to check.
If you change the plug and cap and still have the problem, PM me your address i sent you a injector to try, As long as i get it back. Or if you have a Maplins store near you get a Sonic bath cleaner there only a few quid and clean your injector

mine was the starter relay. took 6-months to find. see if pressing down on it with your hand works (seat of course!)

regards

Taffy

Thanks for the offer of a lone of your injector, I'll hold off for now as I've a iridium plug and now sonic bath wash on order so we'll see how I make out with these.

Guys, thanks so much for the help, the iridium plug arrived today, I can hardly believe the difference, it's like a different bike, it now runs as sweet as a nut :D :D :D :D :D :D

Now I'm  as the so called bike engineering shop clearly didn't even check the plug as part of the service and diagnostics :cuss:

Hopefully now i can have some fun.

Next thing on the agenda is to consider lowing the bike an inch or so to make it more comfortable.
